IN THIS LESSON

Childhood experiences play a pivotal role in shaping a person's boundaries. Early interactions with caregivers, family members, and peers lay the foundation for understanding interpersonal limits and personal space. Positive experiences of respect and validation foster healthy boundaries, while instances of neglect, abuse, or over-intrusiveness can lead to boundary violations or difficulties in asserting one's limits later in life. Additionally, cultural and societal norms learned during childhood can influence how individuals perceive and establish boundaries in various social contexts.
